Yesterday, our team embarked on an exciting journey to Nicolaston House in Swansea for a viewing day organized by World of Auctions. The day was filled with insightful interactions, stunning views, and a taste of local hospitality. Here’s a detailed account of our experience.

The Journey Begins

Our day started early, with the team setting off at 4:30 am for a 520-mile round trip. Despite the long journey, the anticipation of exploring Nicolaston House kept our spirits high.

Meeting Mike, the Senior Trustee

Upon arrival, we were greeted by Mike, the Senior Trustee of Nicolaston House. Mike’s extensive knowledge about the building, its history, and the surrounding area was truly impressive. He shared fascinating stories about the property, which dates back to the 1800s and has served various purposes over the years, including its most recent use as a Christian Retreat Centre.

Property Overview

Nicolaston House is a detached, two-story former hotel that boasts a range of features:

Numerous people have stayed there over the years to seek spiritual and physical solace from various difficulties. It also hosted conferences and groups running activities such as painting and quilting. The mission added an extra wing to Nicholaston House, which dates from the 1880s, and then had plans to modernise the building and add extra accommodation.

Our viewings began at 10:15 am and continued until almost 1 pm. The sessions were attended by a diverse group of potential buyers, including famous athletes, brokers, buy-to-let investors, and local agents. Each visitor was keen to explore the unique features and potential of Nicolaston House.

Concluding the Day

After a productive day of viewings, we concluded our visit with a delightful meal at the West Cross Inn in Swansea. The fish and chips, especially the swordfish, were exceptional and provided a perfect end to our day. We would heartily recommend them for a visit  West Cross inn
